Description

The Logistics Relations Specialist reports directly to the Logistics Operations Manager. The responsibility of the Logistics Relations Specialist is to build, develop, maintain, and manage relationships with customers and carriers who have transportation needs. A successful candidate will utilize their knowledge, experience, and logical reasoning to provide our customers and carriers unprecedented service.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service and support
  • Identify potential customers and carriers
  • Build a portfolio of clients by researching and seeking out prospects via sales calls
  • Develop solid relationships with clients by providing them with excellent customer service
  • Manage the movement of goods, ensuring that they are picked up, transported and delivered on time to the client’s satisfaction
  • Work with manager in forecasting, business planning, and strategy
  • Analyze needs to provide appropriate service
  • Negotiate rates to provide highest returns and margins
  • Keep active call log in all customer files
  • Cold/Warm call potential customer leads
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business/industry ethics and regulations
  • Meet or exceed assigned goals
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Be current with industry related topics and regulations
  • Must maintain positive attitude with customers, coworkers, and other business units
  • Organization and follow through

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years experience in sales/customer service
  • Logistics background is preferred
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Competitive personality
  • Self motivated and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work well independently or with a team
  • Demonstrated problem solving, customer service, and decision-making abilities
  • High energy level and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required
